磁気圏物理学、特に、サブストーム時に磁気圏で生起する現象の特性と、サブストームに密接に関わる磁気リコネクションの物理過程の解明

研究内容


サブストーム開始機構の解明。そのためには、地球半径の10倍より少し内側の夜側磁気圏で起こるカレントディスラプションと、地球半径の20倍ほど隔たった領域で起こる磁気リコネクションの相互関係を究明することが重要です。
磁気リコネクション構造の中央部に位置する磁気拡散領域に興味を持って研究を進めています。
 

自己紹介

私は、これまで、VLF波動、臨界速度電離現象や磁気リコネクションなどのプラズマの素過程、月・惑星のプラズマ、サブストームなど数多くの研究課題に、理論、データ解析、機器開発を手法として取り組んできました。35年近く研究者として活動を行ってきましたが、現在はそれに加えて、自分を育ててくれたコミュニティーに恩返しする気持ちを持って、組織運営に関わる仕事に取り組んでいます。
